EIFL has signed a renewal agreement with The Company of Biologists to continue free access as well as free open access publishing for corresponding authors in all five of its journals. The agreement covers 33 EIFL partner countries and is valid until 31 December 2029.

Following a consultation in January 2026 by the European Commission on the European Research Area (ERA) Act, six major European organisations β ALLEA, EIFL, IFLA, LIBER, OPERAS, and SPARC Europe have issued a landmark joint statement.Β Β
